78Issue A client’s Amazon seller account in the USA was hacked, resulting in unauthorized changes to their listings, account details, and potential misuse of funds, causing concern for their business operations.
Solutions
I identified the root cause of the issue as a critical security breach in the Amazon Seller Central account, where unauthorized parties gained access due to compromised login credentials, phishing attempts, or weak account security configurations. This breach led to potential risks such as listing hijacking, unauthorized changes to product data, fraudulent transactions, and possible loss of funds.
To resolve this, I immediately initiated a full account security audit and implemented advanced protection measures. This included resetting login credentials, enabling two-step verification (2SV), updating registered email access, and removing any unauthorized users or suspicious permissions from the account. I also reviewed account activity logs to identify any malicious changes made to listings, pricing, or bank details.
In parallel, I collaborated directly with Amazon Seller Support to report the security incident, escalate the case, and initiate account recovery procedures. I provided all required verification documents and worked closely with Amazon to secure the account, restore control, and investigate any financial discrepancies or affected transactions.
Additionally, I performed a comprehensive restoration of compromised listings by correcting altered product data, reinstating suppressed ASINs, and ensuring all listings were compliant with Amazon’s policies. I also monitored account health metrics, performance notifications, and policy compliance to prevent further disruptions.
Furthermore, I implemented long-term security best practices, including secure password management, restricted user permissions, regular account monitoring, and phishing prevention strategies to safeguard the account against future threats.
As a result, the Amazon Seller account was successfully secured, unauthorized access was eliminated, affected listings and funds were recovered, and normal business operations were fully restored. The account regained stability, improved security compliance, and continued sales performance without further risk.
