Catalog Issue | USA
73Issue A client encountered a catalog issue in the USA marketplace, where their product was incorrectly categorized or mismatched with other listings, causing visibility issues and confusion for customers.
Solutions
I identified the root cause of the issue as incomplete, inconsistent, and improperly configured backend data, which included incorrect product identifiers (UPC, EAN, GTIN mismatches), duplicate or suppressed ASIN conflicts, and misconfigured fulfillment settings (FBA/FBM). These critical errors were directly impacting product indexing, keyword ranking, Buy Box eligibility, and overall listing visibility on the Amazon marketplace.
To address this, I performed a comprehensive end-to-end audit of the Amazon listing, including backend search terms, attribute mapping, category classification, and inventory file processing. I corrected all product identifiers, resolved catalog conflicts, and ensured compliance with Amazon’s data standardization requirements. Additionally, I optimized backend search terms using high-volume, low-competition keywords to improve organic discoverability and search relevance.
On the front end, I enhanced the product listing by rewriting the title, bullet points, and product description using advanced Amazon SEO strategies. This included incorporating primary and secondary keywords such as Amazon listing optimization, product visibility, keyword indexing, backend search terms, Buy Box optimization, and conversion rate optimization. I also ensured proper keyword placement, readability, and compliance with Amazon’s content policies to avoid suppression or indexing issues.
Furthermore, I optimized fulfillment settings by aligning the listing with the correct FBA configurations, improving shipping templates, and ensuring accurate inventory synchronization across warehouses. I also validated pricing strategy, image compliance, and category-specific requirements to maximize listing performance.
As a result, the listing was successfully updated, fully synchronized, and indexed across Amazon’s search algorithm. This led to a significant improvement in keyword ranking, organic traffic, conversion rates, and overall sales performance in the USA marketplace. The product regained visibility, achieved better placement in search results, and became fully compliant with Amazon’s marketplace guidelines.
